What's on at The Globe

Twisted Illusion embark on their 2nd UK headline tour to promote their impending trilogy 'Excite the Light'.

Influenced by the prog giants of the 70's but with a notably unique sound of their own Twisted Illusion are making a name for themselves as the must see/hear prog band in the UK right now.

The band released their debut "Temple of Artifice" in 2016 and have since gigged all over the UK to promote it's release.

The band played a sold out hometown show in 2016 to celebrate the success of TOA.

With a full length album and a double album released just 12 months apart the 4 piece prog outfit has gained a notable fan base and has even performed for the first time at Bloodstock festival in 2017.

Their recent double album "Insight to the Mind of a Million Faces has gained national attention, with reviews appearing in both Classic Rock and Prog Magazine.

Love Queen? Rush? Dio? How about if you crammed them all together into one big, fleshy prog-rock meatloaf, seasoned with a lack of restraint that makes Devin Townsend look like John Denver? If that sounds palatable, then Twisted Illusion could be right up your street. (Classic Rock) FREE ENTRY

John Fairhurst makes his highly anticipated return to Glossop in support of his new album "The Divided Kingdom"

London-based John Fairhurst makes heavy blues for heavy times. In equal parts revealing, vulgar, cathartic and thrilling, the virtuoso guitarist is channelling the discontent felt in the western world to pay tribute to – and to update – the very idea of rock n roll as protest music. And he’s not here to mince his words on his first album in 6 years, ’The Divided Kingdom’. “Personal greed has far outstripped the need to support the health of society. British politics is a farce. The Government are liars”, states Fairhurst. Powerful statements require powerful music. And it is with ragged glory that ‘The Divided Kingdom’ articulates its point of view.

Created with his partner in crime, Bristolian drummer Toby Murray, ‘The Divided Kingdom’ evangelizes the power of rock n roll through sheer bloody performance. Drawing from the same sonic well that brought us Black Sabbath, Tom Waits, Rage Against the Machine and Captain Beefheart, tracks like ‘Blood & Fire’, ‘Fear’ and ‘Lies and a .45’ prowl with a fury rarely heard in a two-piece, grabbing reality as it sees it and lays it bare for all to see, warts and all, over a heady 37 minutes.

Old Ben- Northen Knights

Formed in Manchester, Last Race Home are a band that are all about creating great songs. They play them live, up close and natural with no fancy effects. Their style ranges from beefy foot stomping tunes, hard bitten northern melancholy and uplifting anthems with bold storytelling lyrics. Featuring harmonica, trumpet, infectious guitars and lots of vocals. Singing songs of hard drinking, love, gritty Northern realism, romanticism and heartbreak.

In a world of increasingly tacky nightclub bling and indie replicants. This band will bring you stylish songs to drink, sing and dance to.
